They worked. I hope everyone had a wonderful year and I pray you all have a better year in 2010. Above you see my nephew Tyrus on the pony we found him for christmas. He can catch, halter, saddle and get on and off all by himself. He is so excited.

Mustang Hy's Buck on the trail course

What a horse. He is amazing. Debby and I set up a trail course at her house and practiced with the horses. Buck did everything I asked him to do. Over the bridge, tarp, ditch, poles and small jumps. I did not ask him to go through the gate but we will be working on that. He does side pass for me so it may not be as hard as I think it might be.

Mustang Hy's Buck

Well look at Mr. Buck. We went on our first ride out yesterday. He did great. He is Mr. Chicken the 2nd. He did get scared a couple times but that was expected. I am going to take him on his first poker ride this sat. He crossed big bridges, over the Yakima river and Hwy 10, went into the water of the yakima river, all kinds of new things we even went under I-90 by Thorp. That really made him nervious but stuck it out and walked out. Buck even took the lead a lot! Almost all the way back even over the bridges. He was very glad to have Lil Bit with him for showing him it was alright to go over these bridges and water and stuff. He still doesn't know he can trot with me on his back but we will work on that. It is going to be a hard desision on whether to keep him or sell/give him away. Only time will tell. I will put more time on him before I deside. However, if anyone knows of someone looking for a nice project let me know.

Mustang Hy's Caramel Candy

I'm back with more tales of myself and Candy. She has really changed since the 9th. I have been working with her almost every day and as you see here she is coming right along. I was able to comb her all the way to the top of her rump and then started getting her used to a rope being tossed about her. We worked on her lounging too. She is doing so well. I hope to be riding her befor summers end. She is such a beautiful mare and really wants to do what I ask. Her trust for me is showing more and more. Tomarrow I will work with her and ropes around her legs, front and back. This shall be interesting. She is most concerned with me around her right side and her back side. And her legs. She is getting better with that as well.

Mustang Hy's Caramel Candy

She is beautiful and smart. These pictures are of I first saw her at the Oddessa Adoption in 2008. When Candy came to me she had been adopted for 2 years. Candy was not titled because the person that adopted her turned her right out into a large feild to eat grass and left her there. She was not handled and her feet got long and no one would sign her off to get her title from the BLM. At 8 years old she came to me. I was going to try and gentle her more and bring her to the next adoption. Candy never left, my mom adopted her for $25.00. I have continued to work with her gaining her trust and that has not been a easy feat. Candy went from leaning away as I touched her face till she almost fell over and would have to move to get her feet back under her to being able to throw hay over her head and hand feeding her grain while petting her head. Well today got very interesting. All we wanted to do was go riding. Ya right!!!!!

Today Candy got out. Yep OUT! She was in a hay field about 100 acres or more, NO fence on the road side just big white irigation pipe. My best friend Debby and her sister Sandy ( on crutches) my sister Melissa and my self. Oh and for a moment my dad. Candy proves to be a very smart horse. She kept us right where she wanted us most of the time. I had her back in the corral, using grain she would follow me right to the corral, smell the ground where the line would be if the panels were closed, and turn and go the other way. She did not want to go in. We finally got her to run down the fence line to the owner of the hay fields house, and got her in a large fenced area. We then had to totally dismantle my panel corral and load them on a trailer and go to the neighbors and build a corral to get Candy in so I can get a halter on her and in the horse trailer. We got her in a small area and I got the halter on her. Reloaded the panels back on the little trailer, Candy in the horse trailer, the small pen of panels loaded, and back up to my mom and dads to load the other horse Buck and the rest of the panels, drive to Debby's unload the panels and build a corral with them, and then unload the horses. This all took about 7 to 8 hours. We are all exhausted but the horses are cought, moved, and haltered. 3 for us and 0 for the
horses.

Saying goodbye to Brittney

It's time to say goodbye to Brittney. I will be taking her home today. As I look outside I see snow of course. No big deal as I have 4-wheel drive. I don't think I will need it tho. Most of the snow is up on the pass. A lot of driving in the next 3 days as I need to go pick up a horse trailer in Sultan. Then tomarrow I go back to pick up a flatbed trailer and then back to get a two horse straight load. We will be storing them for my step daughter for a while. I will be able to use the big horse trailer and that will be nice.

Brittney's 2nd ride

Well Brittney and I went for a little ride today and she did great. She still has some to learn but she is such a nice horse. I will be taking her home on wensday and will miss her. John you are going to have a great time with her. You can learn together and it will be fun for both of you. She still needs to put on more weight but that won't be a problem as John has nice pasture for her and Bella to run and play in. Of course it is still cold and now that I am trying to ride it wants to rain. I will be so glad when summer is here. Maybe I can get my sister to go riding tomarrow and I will take Brittney down the John Wayne trail.

Pretty little Brittney

Well it has been a while but here are the pictures of Brittney. I turned her out with my horses while I was in Texas. Amazing enough my horse took right to her. They even let her eat with them right away. Alex followed her all over.

Brittney had to be in the corral for a while so she sure was glad to be free. She is now eating grass with my Ladybug and her 8yr. old daughter next door. We are going to go for a ride tomarrow. Now that she has put on some weight my saddle should fit better.

Beautiful Brittney

Beautiful Brittney came to my house on Friday the 6th. She is a Fox Trotter. Due to the weather we are having I only rode her once so far. I will add pictures of her tomarrow. Brittney will be my number 2 in my riding for others. And the first time for me to ride a Fox trotter. I think they are gaited like a Tennessee Walker, but I don't know. Well I will add more with her picture tomarrow. Good night all.

Mustang Hy's Buck

This is buck. We got him from my husbands exwife. We got him last spring. Due to work and all I didn't do anything with him unlill this winter. Jacey my stepdaughter told me they had been on him but he did'nt know anything. We I always pony them out to introduce them to the world out there. He did fine through the saddling but when I climbed up on my riding horse and Buck's head went straight up and he backed up so fast it took the lead rope right out of my hand. Now due to the fact my 3yr. old nephew was going riding with us so I decided not to push Buck and put him away.

The following weekend my sister and I went after him again. My sister saddled him up (tied to the horse trailer) He stand good for this. My sister got on and I held the lead rope. Buck is such a good boy. He has whoo, go, left, right. He will lounge with verbal comand and reverse and stop and come to you.

Someone put some ground time on this horse. I have been taking him and introducing him to traffic, and overpasses, Buck is doing wonderful. Once he learned it is ok for me to pony him, He likes to stay right by my right knee so I can touch his forhead and he can hear me talk to him.

Hey Whats up?

Hello to all, This is my Ladybug wearing her harness. (I borrowed it from my best friend Debby at Mustang Prarie Ranch) This is the first time she had it on. I don't know if she likes it or not but the eye guards rub her eye lashes.
